Grilled Key Lime Shrimp

Grilled key lime shrimp is a fast and easy, meat free alternative that can be served as an appetizer or can be added as the protein to  any main meal.

  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) key lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon key lime zest
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable or canola oil
  • 24 shrimp, peeled and deveined


  1. To a mixing bowl add the key lime zest, juice salt, garlic, rosemary, honey and oil. Whisk well to combine.
  2. Add the shrimp to a bowl and pour over ½ of the marinade, cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes. Preheat the grill.
  3. Thread the shrimp onto skewers and grill for no more than 5 minutes on the first side then turn and cook for 2 minutes. Serve immediately with the rest of the marinade for dipping.
